Entries for the 2015 State Multi-Event close on Wednesday 11 February.  This is only 2 weeks away!  As previously advised the State Multi-Event in 2015 is being conducted in Sydney (instead of at a country venue).  The date is 7 & 8 March 2015 and it will be held at Sydney’s premier athletic facility, Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

Holding the event in Sydney will provide an opportunity for more athletes, from Under 7 to Under 17, to compete on a synthetic track.  Many athletes from large centres do not get the opportunity to compete at zone and beyond because of the limit placed on zone entries and many others simply do not qualify beyond the zone level. With two tracks at SOPAC, larger number of athletes can be catered for due to those extra facilities and entry is open to all registered athletes (in the U7 to U17 age groups) irrespective of ability.  The entry fee is $20 per athlete, which will cover gate entry for athletes and parents/spectators.  As there will be ‘down time’, we will also have other activities to keep everyone occupied in between events.  Activities may include such things as: face painting; magic shows; jumping castles and similar.  Final details of activities will be updated on the website soon.

Large age groups will be split into smaller groups for ease of manageability.  With this increase in the number of groups of athletes, we will require more parents to act as Athlete Controllers.  If you are interested in assisting as an Athlete Controller, please let me know by sending an email to dlevy@lansw.com.au.  The number of Athlete Controllers per age will be determined by the number of entries per age.  At this time 8 people have offered to act as Athlete Controllers for some of the age groups.  Many many more Athlete Controllers are needed.  Please click HERE for the duties of the Athlete Controller at our Multi-Event. If we haven’t been able to get enough Athlete Controllers by the time entries close. I will send an email to all parents of registrants asking for further volunteers.

If you are interested in attending this carnival, don’t leave it until the last minute to submit your entry – you may miss out!!  So get together a group from your centre and come along and join the FUN!
