      It is quite an achievement for anyone to be named Club Champion but for an U8 it is a momentous one that has only happened 3 times in the past 20 years. Mariama has now been Club Champion 3 times also no mean feat.

      Mariama and Babucarr McKern. Yes both from the same Family and with only 2 years’ experience in Little Athletics both Mariama and Babucarr have had some amazing achievements over the past 2 years.This Season they represented Bowral at State and State Multi with Babucarr also competing in the Trans Tasman Challenge.

      State-800m 7th,1500m 7th,3000 m 4th Age Champion.

      Ethan started Little A’s in the U/9’s and finished his final year last year in the U17’s. Ethans specialty events are the 400m,800m,1500m and 3000m.During his time at Bowral he has broken numerous club record some that had been held for 20years. He still holds 19 club records,4 zone records , has been age champion since the U/12’s and Club Champion for the past 5 years.He has won 24 gold,5 silver and 2 bronze medals at Zone, 6 Gold,5 Silver and 4 bronze medals at Regionals and 2 Bronze and a Silver medal at State.These achievements were no easy task. Ethan has been dedicated enough to train every day, his endurance training being an hours jog. Although he has finished at Bowral Little A’s he still hopes to visit regularly and encourage his team mates.

      Rachel Shaw & Ethan BeardRachel has been the Female Club Champion for the past 4 years.Her specialty events are Hurdles,long jump and Triple Jump.Rachel will be in her final year at Little A’s this season.She holds 25 club records ,several that had been held for decades.Rachel has represented the club at National Level and enjoys the State Multi event where last year she came away with the gold.Rachel is also a member of Athletics Wollongong where she enjoys some specialty coaching.

      State Multi- 4th Rachel was also chosen in the National U/15 Multi Team from her State Muti Performance
